Jade Osiberu’s ‘gangs of Lagos’ started streaming on April 7, 2023. The movie has been making waves on the net.
Bimbo Ademoye has spoken about her role in the movie, as she played the role of ‘Teni’ the daughter of a ganglord, who was protected and sheltered from the gangs.
Speaking about her role, she revealed that initially, she wanted to play the role of Gift, which was later handed to Adesua Etomi. According to her, she wanted to play the gangster role, as she grew up in Ebutte Metta, so being violent is a norm.
She said, “When I got the script, I saw a particular character, Gift, breaking bottles. I’m from the hood, from Ebute Metta, and breaking bottles is a norm. The lifestyle is a norm for me, so I thought I was going to be Gift, but then I saw I was playing Teni.
However, she praised Jade Osiberu for believing in her, and giving her a new role to try, so she feels loved that she’s given such a privilege.
“That kind of touched me because any time she wants to give me a character, she goes beyond something people would expect. That’s how much she believes (in me),” she said.
