Donald Trump didn’t waste time in claiming the spotlight after news broke of the Gaza truce, In typical fashion, he called himself the “peacemaker-in-chief,” proudly announcing the deal online with the words, ‘Blessed Are the Peacemakers’. The former president’s confidence was loud as always, but his tactics, this time, went far beyond mere showmanship.

Trump’s Quiet Pressure

While the dramatic announcement made headlines, the real work had been going on behind closed doors. Trump’s team had been pressing Benjamin Netanyahu to compromise, a surprising twist considering Trump’s previous unconditional support for Israel. Sources confirmed that Trump had also drawn Arab states into the discussion, especially Qatar, Egypt, and the UAE, who helped broker the delicate arrangement. It was a rare moment of diplomatic patience from a man known for impatience.

The Politics Behind the Peace

Still, there’s no denying Trump’s political instincts. The ‘Blessed Are the Peacemakers’ declaration wasn’t only about Gaza it was about legacy. He’s long been chasing the elusive Nobel Peace Prize, and this deal, no matter how fragile, might be his ticket to that recognition. For someone whose presidency was marked by fiery comments, playing the role of a peace broker seems both ironic and strategic.

Pressure on Netanyahu

Netanyahu, who once enjoyed Trump’s full backing, now faced a different kind of ally, one who wasn’t afraid to issue deadlines and threats. Reports said Trump gave Hamas until October 5 to agree or face “all hell.” It was vintage Trump: blend pressure with publicity, then step in as the savior when things fall into place. And as expected, when the truce came through, Trump wasted no second taking credit for it.

Peacemaker or Politician?

What’s most interesting is how ‘Blessed Are the Peacemakers’ became more than a boast, it turned into a campaign line. Trump’s believes he can do what others couldn’t. Whether this peace lasts or not, he’s already carved out a win in the public eye. Even if the Gaza deal falters, Trump will have what he wanted all along, the image of the man who brought calm where chaos once reigned.
