Relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, caused a stir on social media on Wednesday by announcing the end of her engagement to auto-dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly called IVD.
Hours later, she clarified that the announcement was intentional, aimed at generating buzz and reclaiming public attention.
On Instagram, Blessing shared a video showing her and IVD shaking hands, suggesting an amicable separation. She revealed that the engagement was over and hinted at plans to either sell or give away the ring, while covering a tattoo on her neck.
The news surprised many followers, as the couple’s relationship had been highly publicized since 2023, when Blessing first teased a mystery man before confirming it was IVD, who even had her face tattooed on his arm.
In a subsequent Instagram post, Blessing admitted the breakup was a calculated move to test her ability to spark controversy. She confirmed she and IVD had reconciled and teased wedding plans, mentioning that traditional wedding outfits for guests were ready.
“I was losing my touch of controversy. Decided to test it again. I still got the magic. No be Blessingceo again. Boom. Boo boo for life. They love bad news ooooooo. Wedding loading,” she wrote.
She also apologized for distracting followers, while affirming that she and IVD were back together.
“Sorry for distracting you people, No vex we don reconcile. Bloggers no vex. Thanks for always trending me ok. Asoebi is ready ooo. If we break up again I will still come and tell you people,” she added.
The couple’s engagement, first revealed in April 2025, had sparked months of speculation about their wedding, despite IVD’s controversial history, which includes his 2022 link to the death of his ex-wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, and an August 2025 arrest over domestic violence allegations.
