Nigerian human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has disclosed that cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been granted bail following his ongoing legal dispute.

Blord is facing allegations of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the unauthorised use of the identity of Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. The case originated after the social media critic accused the entrepreneur of using his image in an advertisement without permission.

After his court appearance on April 1, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia ordered that Blord be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Center pending further proceedings scheduled for April 27, 2026.

Providing an update, Sowore announced via Facebook that the entrepreneur has now been released on bail, noting that certain conditions were attached.

“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams popularly known as Blord on self recognisanse. The court, however ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he wrote.

During Friday’s hearing, the court fixed bail at ₦20 million, requiring two sureties in like sum. The judge specified that the sureties must be individuals of credible standing in society.

Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia also warned Blord against making public comments about the case as proceedings continue, before adjourning the matter to April 27 for hearing.

Earlier, Sowore had criticised public reactions celebrating Blord’s detention, describing such responses as inappropriate and stating his intention to push for the entrepreneur’s release and possible dismissal of the case.

His stance, however, sparked a sharp reaction from VeryDarkMan, who faulted the activist for not addressing the issue privately. The critic also issued a warning, insisting he would take legal action if Sowore ever impersonated him in a similar manner as alleged in the case involving Blord.
