Erik ten Hag’s team defeated Brentford 4-0 on Saturday, handily handing Manchester United one of their biggest losses in Premier League history. Ten Hag was able to give Cristiano Ronaldo a start to give United some sort of response to last weekend’s 2-1 home loss to Brighton and Hove Albion, but all they got was a humiliating defeat.
Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen gave Brentford a 2-0 lead inside of 18 minutes, and then Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo made sure Brentford became just the third team in Premier League history to defeat United by four goals in the first half. Both times, David de Gea made mistakes.
Even though the Bees were unable to further harm United and Ten Hag in the second half, the harm had already been done, thus it didn’t really matter.
The match ended with Brentford taking the win.
