In response to an incident in August that led to the disappearance of several valuable artifacts, the British Museum revealed plans on Wednesday to fully digitize its entire collection.
Mark Jones, the museum’s interim director, emphasized the necessity of enhancing security measures while simultaneously promoting greater accessibility to the collection.
“We have taken steps to improve security and are now confident that a theft of this kind can never happen again,” stated Jones in an official announcement.
