President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed condolences to former House Speaker, Hon Ghali Umar Na’Abba, on the death of his mother, Hajiya Rabi Umar Na’Abba.

According to a statement published yesterday by presidential spokesperson Mallam Garba Shehu, the dead was a sibling of the late Bashir Usman Tofa, a political acquaintance of the president and former Presidential Candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in the Third Republic.

Buhari described the death of a mother as a sad experience in his condolence letter, and he prayed to Allah to console the former speaker and the greater Na’Abba family.

Buhari also expressed his condolences to the Olu of Warri, all chiefs of the Kingdom, relatives, and friends of the Rone family, following the death of Chief S.S Rone, Ogienoyibo, the Obazuaye of Warri and longest serving Chief.

According to a statement published yesterday by his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, the president commended God’s blessing on the departed, who served four monarchs as a high-ranking Chief while also working to maintain peace, amity, and development in Warri and surrounds.

Buhari praised Rone’s life of service to the younger generation and urged his family and children to ensure that his good works and memories are preserved.

According to the president, Rone, who died on Monday at the age of 86, left behind a great reputation that will continue to inspire.

Buhari wished the departed eternal peace and comfort to all who mourned his death.
