The president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized and signed a new law intended to pave the way for major health insurance throughout Nigeria. The bill is also supposed to enhance social fitness insurance into the reach of poor Nigerians. According to the president, the 2022 National Health Insurance Authority Bill will gain over eighty-three million poor Nigerians across the country.
The signing of this new bill has then again replaced and canceled the previous National Health Insurance Scheme Act, Cap N42 handed in 2004.
