Nigerian Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, commonly known as Davido, has stated that Major General Mohammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, will leave a lasting legacy.

The superstar beamed with joy since his uncle Ademola Adeleke was announced by INEC on Sunday as the winner of the recently concluded Osun state gubernatorial election by 403,371 votes, defeating incumbent governor Oyetola who gathered 375,027 votes.

The enthusiastic singer prayed for the President for acknowledging his uncle and congratulating him on his victory.

He said: “The people of Osun have expressed their will through voting. That’s what democracy is about: respect for the will of the people.

“The successful delivery of #OsunDecides2022 is a testament to the maturity and commitment of all involved to strengthen the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral process.

“I remain fully committed to leaving a legacy of credible elections in Nigeria.”

Quoting the last line of the retired general’s tweet, Davido said: “You will leave a LASTING legacy! God bless you for that act alone, sir!”

Many celebrities and fans have congratulated and praised him for the role he played for his uncle in the election. We hope the presidential election next year will be peaceful and successful.
