A 52-year-old carpenter identified as Ademola Lawrence has reportedly died on account of a dilapidated classroom building of L. A. Primary School, Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State collapsing on him.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 28, when the carpenter was pulling down the rickety building to make way for another structure.
An anonymous source reported that the father of four who hailed from Ode-Irele in the Irele local government area of the state was performing the task of a bricklayer when he met, he unfortunately died.
“He was attempting to pull down the dilapidated structure when the ugly incident happened and died before help could reach him,” the source had said.
According to the anonymous source, the corpse of the man has been recovered from the debris and has already been deposited at the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, has confirmed the incident.
