Canada had on Tuesday, April 4 announced that it has opened an investigation into the US-based software firm behind ChatGPT, the buzzy artificial intelligence chatbot.
The investigation had been opened by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner into OpenAI in reaction to a complaint alleging that the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information without consent was illegal the agency said.
OpenAI’s chatbot which was launched in November 2022 uses information available online to provide detailed answers to its users’ queries.
