Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has confirmed that his Twitch account has been temporarily suspended, just days after his record-breaking livestream featuring Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The highly publicised livestream, held on December 17, 2025, attracted massive online engagement and helped Carter Efe emerge as Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, amassing over 405,000 followers on the platform.
Announcing the development on Monday, the comedian revealed that Twitch imposed a four-month suspension on his account, citing alleged breaches of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the platform did not disclose the specific actions that led to the sanction.

The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe overtook other Nigerian creators, including Shank Comics, and delivered one of the most-watched livestreams in Twitch’s history on the continent alongside Davido.
In response, fans and supporters have taken to social media to express disappointment and solidarity, praising the comedian for his positive energy and calling on Twitch to reconsider its decision.
Although online speculation suggests the suspension may be linked to mass reporting or controversial moments during the livestream, claims that Carter Efe has been banned on other platforms have been debunked.
The move has dampened the mood among fans, especially as it coincides with the festive season, with many hoping the issue will be resolved quickly.
