Edison Cavani, the ex-Manchester United forward, is likely to be a teammate with Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze. There are reports that negotiations are underway for him to join La Liga club, Villarreal.Cavani’s tie with Manchester United expired last month, marking the end of his two-year stay at Old Trafford. Cavani, who is 35 years of age, has played for Manchester United, PSG, and Napoli and is close to playing for Spain as there are reports he has been in touch with Villarreal.The Uruguay national player was not having a good time at Manchester United as he only scored twice in 15 league games. Despite this, he remains a very good player as he scored 200 goals at PSG and 100 goals for Napoli.Cavani would like to play consistently in preparation for the World Cup which is months away as he is keen to perform very well for his national team and it seems that Villarreal could offer this opportunity to play regularly as he is a former Premier-League -player. Despite not being the first Premier League player they will sign, ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been signed by Villarreal.
