The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN has issued a warning saying that any candidate in the forthcoming general elections with sketchy behavior would not work for the common good of the electorate.
The CBCN had made the warning via a communiqué issued at the end of their 2023 first plenary meeting held at Abuja, at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria.
According to the Bishops, politicians with evil intentions could in no way possess good intentions for the citizen and the development of the country.
The religious leaders had therefore called on the Electoral Commission to ensure that the newly adopted technologies for accreditation, transmission, and result collation, were not manipulated to give false results.
