Chelsea agree 24m deal to sell Tyrique George to Everton

Chelsea and Everton have agreed a deal worth up to 24m for Tyrique George as part of a squad rebuild ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Chelsea and Everton have agreed a deal for Tyrique George that could rise to 24m with a clause built in. The transfer fee consists of an initial 18m plus a further 6m in add-ons.

The West London club has also included a 15% sell-on fee in the agreement, and the 20-year-old, who can play as a winger or in midfield, has agreed personal terms with Goodison Park-bound Toffees, having impressed on loan for the Toffees in the second half of last season.

Making only one start in the Premier League in a period in which he was frequently a substitute, the academy graduate made himself too big an addition for David Moyes to miss out on, and now is heading for the north west of England.

This sale represents the second major departure from Stamford Bridge this summer, after Marc Cucurella was sold to Real Madrid, and several other sales could follow, with Trevoh Chalobah attracting interest from Premier League rivals.

In the short term, it is hoped that Enzo Fernandez will also remain in west London, despite interest from Real Madrid earlier this summer; with Los Blancos ruling out signing the Argentine star before August, that would boost Chelsea’s prospects of retaining their World Cup-winning star.

Having proven himself to Moyes during his spell at Everton last season, George will be hoping to establish himself as a regular starter in an exciting-looking Everton line-up next season.
