Chelsea is trying to tie their loose ends before the transfer window closes. It is reported that Chelsea has had several meetings with Barcelona, over the signing of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
Due to the exit of Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan, Chelsea is eager to sign another striker, despite purchasing Raheem Sterling.
Aubameyang a former Arsenal striker who only joined Barcelona in February isn’t willing to leave the club, but due to Barcelona’s financial status, they might just be willing to part with the player. Fabrizio Romano has described Aubameyang as a potential striker and has contacted Barcelona for full negotiations to start. Todd Bohely the new owner of Chelsea has had several meetings with Barcelona chiefs. Although Chelsea is yet to present an official offer for Aubameyang.
Fortunately for the club, Aubameyang and Thomas Tuchel were both in Dortmund together which can influence the agreement. Chelsea has faced several difficulties in terms of signing players this summer, as they were unable to sign some world-class players. They decided to face Aubameyang after the deal to sign Robert Lewandowski crashed as Lewandowski ditched Chelsea for Arsenal for a fee of €45m. Aubameyang can be seen as a worthy alternative as he has scored 68 goals in 128 premier league matches.
