Chelsea Might be Ready to Pay World Record Fee for Fofana

If we can recall, there were reports that Chelsea is interested in Leicester City player, Wesley Fofana. It seems Chelsea has their eyes on Fofana, just after signing Marc Cucurella from Brighton for a fee of €62m and Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.

Chelsea has said that they are currently interested in the player and that Fofana is also interested in moving to Chelsea but Leicester City isn’t ready to release Fofana. Considering Chelsea’s desperation over the player, Chelsea might have to pay a fee of €80m for Fofana, who still has five years left on his contract with Leicester City which gives Leicester City an upper hand in the transfer.

It seems, Leicester City is planning on repeating history, with the sale of Fofana, as Harry Maguire was sold to Manchester United for €80m. Chelsea might actually pay the price which would make it a world-record fee

Despite Chelsea’s new signing, they still want to sign another defender due to Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen’s departure to both Real Madrid and Barcelona. As we all know it has been a rough period for Chelsea, as they missed out on opportunities to sign world-class players and have to sign other players before the transfer window closes. A new season in the world of football is upon us, and fans are a bit worried whether Chelsea would make it to the top four in the EPL considering their poor performance at the preseason games.
