Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk reportedly faces a provisional suspension after returning an adverse doping test. The 23-year-old Ukrainian international, who has been absent in recent times due to illness, is now at the center of an investigation.
Chelsea made it public on Tuesday with the following statement: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm the Football Association recently contacted our player Mykhailo Mudryk concerning an adverse finding in a routine urine test. Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support The FA’s testing programme. Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances.”
The club underlined its cooperation with the authorities and declined further comment pending the investigation.
Mudryk himself expressed his shock, firmly denying any wrongdoing. “This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules. I know I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful I’ll be back on the pitch soon.”
The situation remains under investigation as Mudryk, Chelsea, and relevant authorities work to identify the cause of the adverse result. Until resolved, the Ukrainian winger’s return to action remains uncertain.
