Miss Universe runner-up, Chidimma Adetshina, has announced her decision to retire from pageantry, saying that it was “traumatic”.
Speaking with Silverbird TV, Adetshina revealed she is relocating to Nigeria from South Africa to focus on personal growth and education. Despite her success, including being named Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, she said, “I’m done. Pageantry was a real struggle for me.”
Adetshina’s journey came not without controversy. She withdrew from Miss South Africa due to backlash over her Nigerian roots before winning Miss Nigeria and ultimately finishing as 1st runner-up at Miss Universe.
Now, she is willing to retire from the limelight and actually start building a life away from pageantry.
