Cubana Chief Priest, a well-known show producer and businessman, has revealed details about his ongoing dispute with Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
In a recent interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, shared on X on Sunday, Chief Priest explained the deterioration of their once-friendly relationship and how his close connection with Davido has contributed to the tension.
He explained that the fallout started after Burna Boy’s career soared following his deal with Atlantic Records.
Cubana Chief Priest, a renowned show promoter, claimed that he has played a key role in the success of nearly every major Nigerian artist, solidifying his standing in the entertainment industry.
However, he said Burna Boy is jealous of his undying devotion to Davido.
Chief Priest further emphasised Davido’s support for his businesses and personal milestones, acknowledging that the singer has consistently been there for him throughout the years.
He said, “I was on my own everybody saw it, Burna Boy hit me hard, we used to be friends until when after Atlantic records till he became bigger, he used to be a big guy so the reach wasn’t like it used to be before and I kept doing my thing.
“I have musicians all around and that’s my business, I’m a show promoter, so there’s no artists that has blown in this country I’ve not fucked with, my relationship with Davido is something a lot of people are not happy with the way I carry him, the way I promote him, the way I can’t take any backlash for Davido that was the reason.
“Burna boy is jealous because he doesn’t have someone by him side that has my kind of energy I feel he wants me but I’m long gone because Davido opened my club in Owerri, Asaba he opened my hotel, David opened my house David has been there this December David came to Owerri for me he came to asaba for me”
The businessman’s revelations offer a deeper understanding of the rift between the two stars, giving fans an exclusive look into the personal dynamics within the Nigerian music industry.
