In an effort to reinvigorate the nation’s tourism sector in the aftermath of the pandemic, China has disclosed plans to reinstate visa-free policies and is contemplating the inclusion of additional countries in its visa-exemption roster. These measures were outlined in a policy document unveiled on Friday.
The State Council of China has also affirmed its commitment to increasing the resumption and augmentation of international flights. This step is expected to facilitate easier access for travellers from around the world.
As per an official statement posted on the central government’s website, China is poised to promote visa-free policies and on-arrival visa assurances, streamlining immigration clearance procedures, particularly for cruise passengers and self-driving tourists.
Furthermore, the government has advocated for the enhancement of tax-rebate services, including the establishment of additional tax-rebate shops, to further support the country’s tourism industry.
