Congratulations pour in for the Bayana Bayana team of South Africa for emerging champions at the recently concluded Africa Women’s Cup of Nations. South Africa qualified for the finals after defeating Zambia, The Atlass Lionesses of Morocco also qualified for the finals after defeating nine times champions, Super falcons in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. South Africa faced Morocco for the finals of WAFCON 22 and defeated them by a 2-1 win.
In the first half, no team scored, as both teams struggled for dominance. Hildah Magaia scored the two goals that gave South Africa Victory over Morocco, Rosella Ayane at the 11th minute to the end of the game, netted the ball into the goal as a consolation for Morocco.
The president of South Africa has congratulated the Bayana Bayana team of South Africa for winning the WAFCON 22 games, for the first time. He praised them for representing the country well
Ramaphosa wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations to @Banyana_Banyana on making history and winning their first ever title at the Women’s Africa Cup of National last night. They promised me that they would bring the trophy home. We cannot wait to welcome you back and thank you for flying the flag!??“
Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi has also congratulated the South African team on their win

The Bayana Bayana team of South Africa, Equitorial Guniea, and the Super Falcons of Nigeria are the winners of the WAFCON games so far. Super falcons finished fourth after losing to the Copper queens of Zambia.
