Antonio Corbo, an Italian Journalist has commended super eagles forward Victor Osimhen for not being selfish by allowing his fellow teammate to take Wednesday’s penalty kick in their game against Ajax in the UEFA champions league.
Osimhen who just recovered from a hamstring injury that he picked from their match against Liverpool in their opener of the UEFA champions league this season, scored a goal for Napoli as they thrashed Ajax 4-2.
The interesting thing about the game was that Napoli won a penalty after Tangy Ndombele was fouled and Osimhen who is the club’s lead penalty taker should have taken it but he offered the opportunity to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to take the penalty, which he did and scored.
According to Combo, Osimhen’s act of generosity should be applauded, as he gave Kvaratskhelia the opportunity to take the penalty.
As reported by areanapoli Corbo said in his column ‘il Graffio’: “On the other hand, Osimhen’s gesture was commendable, he offered the ball to Kvaratskhelia who asked him to take the penalty.”
