The high-profile rape case against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs has taken a fiery turn. Manhattan Judge Analisa Torres has slammed Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, for his “inflammatory language” and combative tactics.
Spiro, who demanded the plaintiff, identified as “Jane Doe,” reveal her identity, was accused of filing motions that wasted judicial resources. The judge warned him against further “unacceptable” behavior.
The lawsuit accuses Jay-Z and Combs of raping the plaintiff when she was 13. Both men have denied the allegations, with Spiro pointing out a number of inconsistencies in her story. Combs, already facing more than 150 allegations of sexual misconduct, is currently in jail on unrelated federal charges.
The explosive case has continued to send shockwaves through the music industry.
