A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja had on Thursday, June 8, charged the EFCC to instruct a man, Ndubisi Success convicted of internet fraud on the gains and disadvantages of fraud.
Mr Success had been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for creating an Instagram account for the primary purpose of persuading unsuspecting victims to send money to him.
Success had meanwhile pleaded guilty to the charge and appealed to the court for leniency.
Justice Aliyu Shafa on delivering judgment to the accused had convicted him and directed him to report to the Legal Department of the EFCC for one week from the hours of 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
According to the judge, the convict should be instructed under the observation of the Director of the EFCC legal department on the advantages and disadvantages of internet scams and their consequent effect on youths.
