The Nigerian police officer, ASP Drambi Vandi, AP/no 134901, who purportedly shot and killed a female lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, on Christmas Day has been directed by a law court, to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre until January 30, 2023.

This was made known by the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a Twitter post early Friday morning, December 30.

Drambi Vandi had also been arraigned and remanded in court earlier today at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre till January 30, 2023, to give room for DPP advice, According to the contents of Hundeyin’s tweet.

This is coming after Nigerians have called for justice and transparency in the killing of the Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem.

Before the arraignment and remand in court, the Police Service Commission on Thursday, 29 December in a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, approved the suspension of the police officer from duty with immediate effect.

The commission had additionally directed that the final investigation into the matter should be concluded to allow the Commission to take further necessary action.
