Opeyemi Famakin, a popular food critic, reported that the Imo state based entertainment businessman, Chiefpriest Cubana, threatened to kill him over his genuine opinion on his restaurant. On September 11th, 2024, Famakin while appreciating the setting of the restaurant, took to his page to negatively comment on the microwave heated and pre-prepared pastries they sell. Initially, Chiefpriest politely thanked Famakin for visiting his restaurant.
However, things took a much darker turn when Famakin posted private messages that demonstrated Chiefpriest didn’t take the review all that well. In fact, according to Famakin, a message from Chiefpriest warned that “karma” was waiting for him and would make him “pay” for what he did. Not wanting to be caught out, Famakin released his screenshots of their private conversation, calling on the public to hold Chiefpriest responsible should anything happen to him in Imo State.
