Bahrain Victorious team confirmed the devastating news that Swiss cyclist Gino Mader has lost his life after colliding with a ravine during the descent towards the finish line in stage five of the Tour de Suisse. The team expressed their gratitude towards the exceptional staff at Chur Hospital, but unfortunately, Gino could not overcome this final and formidable challenge. At 11:30 a.m, they bid farewell to one of the brightest stars in their team.
Gino Mader, a member of the Bahrain-Victorious cycling team, was airlifted to the hospital on Thursday following a high-speed accident where he veered off the road while descending a mountain during the Tour of Switzerland.
Another cyclist, Magnus Sheffield of the United States, also suffered a fall and was hospitalized with a concussion.
