Afrobeats star Davido has alleged he’s receiving threats following his comments about Nigeria’s economy on the American podcast Big Homies House.
During the podcast, Davido described Nigeria’s economy as being in “shambles” and warned Americans against relocating to the country. His remarks sparked backlash, with figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri criticizing him.
In response, Davido replied to defend his stance, stating that entertainers are the “real ambassadors” of Nigeria.
He also alleged there are threats to cancel his December concert in Lagos because of the controversy. He wrote, “Dem say dem go cancel my show cus of my interview … loooool I don’t have to perform in Nigeria.”
