Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his plans to celebrate his 32nd birthday with a charity donation of ₦300 million. The singer took to his X account on Monday to make the announcement, adding that he would be giving it to orphanages and a support group campaigning against youth drug abuse and addiction.
He tweeted his commitment to giving back to society: “Once again for my birthday this year, we are donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year it’s ₦300m. Details to follow soon”.
This is not the first time he has utilised his birthday for noble causes. In 2021, Davido gave ₦250 million to 292 orphanages around Nigeria to mark his 29th birthday and sealed his position among Nigerian philanthropists who do not hesitate to use their platforms in making needed changes.
