Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, has cleared the air that he actually comes from a very respectful family, contrary to how the public might perceive him. The singer did this during a courtesy visit to the Olu of Warri in Delta State on Saturday, addressing the occasional controversies surrounding his behavior as a celebrity.
“I come from a very respectful family,” Davido said, “Sometimes, as OBO, I may act out of place, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t raised right”. His comments come days after a jab from fellow singer Wizkid, who seemed to suggest that Davido did not have much upbringing at home.
Wizkid’s comments went for Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who some time ago went viral with videos of himself dancing. As he penned on X: “When u see people wey dem papa and family train, u go know! U don’t see my uncle dancing online!”
The shade notwithstanding, Davido remains proud of his roots, ensuring to accentuate the values instilled in him through his parents.
