Following their escape from the threat of being relegated for the second year in a row, Roberto De Zerbi has suggested Tottenham Hotspur is capable of a significant leap forward this season.
The Italian master, who took Tottenham away from back-to-back relegations on the last day of the season, is determined to change the performance, the organisation and the style of play.
“We have to push for the style of play and the organization,” and De Zerbi continued when discussing the need to mold a team with “a soul”. The Premier League side has backed their boss and spent over 237m of available funds while allowing several players to leave. Attack additions are possible before the transfer deadline.
Spurs’ exclusion from European competition will also give De Zerbi added time to work with the squad and ease off the physical requirements that come from a packed schedule of fixtures.

Supporters are certain of a fight for qualification, with most estimating as low as fourth, with others suggesting even higher in the English League.
De Zerbi’s brand of high-energy football, added to a reformed squad, will definitely bring optimism to White Hart Lane, and it can only now hope to convert all of this confidence into results higher up the table after such an unsatisfactory previous term.
