In a move that will be welcomed by travelers between the United States and Africa, Delta Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its services. Starting December 1st, Delta will resume daily flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Lagos, Nigeria, adding to their existing daily service from Atlanta.

This exciting news doesn’t stop there. Delta is also making improvements to its fleet serving Accra, Ghana, and South Africa.

Increased Choices and Frequencies for Passengers

Previously, Delta offered daily flights to Lagos only from Atlanta. With the addition of the New York-JFK route, passengers will have even more options and flexibility when traveling to Nigeria. From December through the first half of January, Delta will provide a total of 14 flights per week to Lagos, offering travelers more frequent connections. This frequency will then adjust to 10 weekly flights throughout the rest of the “harmattan” season, which typically refers to the cool, dry and dusty season in West Africa.

This expansion reflects Delta’s commitment to providing excellent service to its customers. “We’re expanding our options for customers to experience the premium service and elevated hospitality they expect from Delta,” said Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, Joe Esposito.

A Comfortable and Classy Travel Experience

Passengers flying on the new route from New York to Lagos can look forward to a comfortable journey aboard an Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Delta offers a variety of seating options to suit different needs and budgets. Travelers can choose from Delta One (the airline’s premium cabin), Delta Premium Select (offering extra legroom and amenities), Delta Comfort+ (featuring more spacious seating compared to standard economy), or the Main Cabin.

This expansion by Delta Airlines is a positive development for travelers between the United States and Africa. With more flights, upgraded service, and a variety of seating options, Delta is making it easier and more enjoyable for people to connect across these continents.
