Hon. Leye Odunjo, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has resigned from his role as the state’s deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. Through the State Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, Odunjo wrote a letter to the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, on Thursday in which he stated that his decision to leave the position and the party was a personal one. He expressed his gratitude to Ogundele and the other PDP members in the state for their support, affection, and cooperation and that he will miss them all.

Odunjo stated that his decision to leave the party and his position was “personal and divine,” giving those reasons as the reasons for his departure. He gave special thanks to the state chairman and all of the state working committee members for their collaboration, support, and the love we had shared. He also expressed gratitude to the chairmen of all local governments in Ado-Odo/Ota and throughout Ogun State, as well as to the party’s state executive members and those who left the party before me.
