Canadian rapper Drake’s gamble on the heavy-hitting boxing legend Mike Tyson went sour on Friday night after Tyson was outboxed by Jake Paul in one of the most highly-anticipated heavyweight bouts.
The eighth-round fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, went by unanimous decision to Jake Paul and saw the end of Drake’s hope to turn his $355,000 wager into a $1 million payout.
He took to Instagram before the fight and shared a screenshot of his giant bet, pretty sure that Tyson would take the fight. All that confidence left the rapper with absolutely nothing, as Paul’s performance sent fans abuzz, talking about Drake’s betting mishap.
This latest loss for Drake adds to the list of wild gambles he has taken. Again, it goes to show that even the “Champagne Papi” can’t always predict the world of boxing.
