The Economic Community of West African States had on Saturday, criticised the violence that erupted in Guinea Bissau on Friday morning.
The critique was contained in a statement issued by the ECOWAS Parliament in FCT Abuja.
It also revealed that the body learnt with deep reflection, the violence that erupted in Guinea Bissau in the early hours of Friday.
The West African body afterwards, strongly rebuked the unrest and the attempt to disrupt the constitutional order and rule of law in Guinea Bissau.
The West African body further called for the arrest and persecution of the perpetrators of the violence.
Finally, ECOWAS gave its full support to the people of Guinea Bissau and the constitutional authority of their country.
