According to a statement released by the EFCC on its verified Twitter account on Tuesday, the operation was based on “credible intelligence linking the suspects to internet fraud-related activities.”
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to combating cybercrime, stating, “We remain resolute in our mandate to rid Nigeria of economic and financial crimes.”
At the time of the arrests, the EFCC recovered several items, including nine cars, 11 laptops, 46 mobile phones, and two smartwatches, all of which are suspected to have been used in the commission of the alleged crimes.
