Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano has announced Monday as a public holiday in the state to celebrate the seventh day of the Maulud festivities, urging the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the good teachings of the Prophet of Islam on that day.
The Governor had also emphasized that the life of the Prophet was an example and a timeless guide for promoting peace, justice, humility, and compassion in both personal and communal spheres.
Therefore, the Muslim community were encouraged to remain steadfast in abiding to the Quran and Sunnah.
The Governor was also implored them to use the opportunity to pray for peace and prosperity for the state and the nation, while also wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Maulud celebration.

“The Prophet’s teachings are a beacon of mercy and righteousness that should be integrated into everyday life,” he added.
“In the face of current moral and social challenges, it is vital for Muslims to return to the essence of Islam by reflecting the moral character of the Prophet Muhammad. His life is a model of integrity, honesty, and service to humanity,” he concluded.
