About eight terrorist members have been killed and four previously abducted victims have been rescued on Friday, November 11, by the Operation Forest Sanity Troops of the Nigerian Army in Zamfara State.
This has been confirmed by the Director, of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami. He had remarked that the attacked terrorist camps were situated at Dutse Uku forest in Lanke and Danmarke villages in the Gummi LGA, Zamfara.
The Nigerian military personnel, while it was engaging the terrorists in a firefight, had neutralized eight bandits while the surviving others ran for safety with gunshot wounds.
According to Danmadami, the soldiers used the public area after the gunbattle to rescue four kidnapped victims.
The recovered materials included: 6 AK-47 rifles, 40 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 6 AK-47 magazines, and 32 motorbikes.
An anonymous military source who confirmed the onslaught had likened the recent attack to the new fighter jets that had been deployed by the new government.
