X Corp is set to initiate legal proceedings against the media watchdog and all parties involved in the assault on the X social media platform. Elon Musk declared this intention on Saturday following a wave of major U.S. companies suspending their advertisements on the platform due to alleged associations with antisemitic content alongside corporate ads from IBM, Apple, Oracle, and Comcast’s Xfinity.
Musk vehemently stated, “The moment the court opens on Monday, X Corp will initiate a robust legal action against Media Matters and everyone implicated in this deceitful assault on our company.” This announcement came through a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Earlier in the week, Musk had supported a post on X that incorrectly asserted Jewish people were fostering animosity against white individuals. He endorsed the user’s reference to the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory, asserting it as “the actual truth.”
Musk defended X’s integrity, claiming, “This week Media Matters for America published a story that grossly misrepresented the true environment on X, yet another effort to undermine freedom of speech and misguide advertisers,” as conveyed in a statement posted by Musk.
