SpaceX plans to test its huge Starship rocket on Tuesday, and former President Donald Trump might be there to watch it in Texas. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has put temporary flight limits in place over the area, probably to make room for the important guest, which happens to be during the test launch time.
This marks the latest in a series of appearances by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk alongside Trump, which makes Musk’s influence stronger in the president-elect’s group. Musk has often been at Trump’s events, like meetings at his Mar-a-Lago club and with Republicans in Capitol Hill.
The 30-minute test launch time starts at 4 pm local time (11:00 pm CET), with SpaceX concentrating on testing the booster’s landing system in Texas. The upper part will keep going until it lands in the Indian Ocean.
Trump has previously shared a dramatic account of Starship’s test, including using mechanical arms to catch the booster at the launchpad.
