After the manipulative electoral incident in Adamawa State which led to the illegal declaration of Hajia Aishatu Dahiru (Binani), the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress as the winner by the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari; certain eminent Nigerians have called for a complete overhaul of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, in addition to the Department of State Services, DSS.
As several Nigerians have called for the disgraced REC’s prosecution; they have equally condemned the role of the police and DSS, who had provided security for Ari while he went about his illegal duty in the State.
A Human rights activist and Constitutional lawyer, Mike Ozekhome had decried the role of the DSS in aiding Mr. Ari who usurped the powers of the Returning Officer, Mohammed Mele, opining that the secret police have become politicized over the past few years.
