The gushing actress had accepted the accolade on stage at a theatre in downtown Los Angeles, speaking Korean for a few seconds before screaming: “I’m so very happy!” in English.
Awards for the Lead actor and other categories will be given out in a televised red-carpet event on September 12, 2022. Squid Game is currently competing for the top drama honor, a record in itself as it is the first non-English language series to be nominated in that category.
