The Football Association won’t be taking any formal steps against Jim Ratcliffe after his recent immigration comments. Instead, they’ve just reminded him of his duties as co-owner of Manchester United.
Ratcliffe caused a stir when he said that the United Kingdom had been “colonised by immigrants,” comments that were met with criticism from Prime Minister Keir Starmer and a number of United supporter groups.
The FA looked into whether the comments harmed the reputation of the game but decided not to take any disciplinary action. Manchester United put out a statement making it clear they don’t share Ratcliffe’s opinions, but even after the billionaire apologized, it didn’t stop the criticism. Reports say several club representatives were upset by the remarks.

Before Monday’s trip to Everton, interim manager Michael Carrick took a moment to remind everyone about the club’s values. Carrick said United is proud of its culture and worldwide influence, stressing the importance of equality, diversity, and mutual respect.
He said the team is still together and focused, mentioning that the players, who come from different backgrounds, are in good spirits as they get ready for their next game.
