President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday, 15th February 2022 in Abuja awarded Nigerian citizenship to 286 nationals, encouraging them to be good citizens of the country to enjoy all the rights and benefits provided exclusively to them (Nigerians).

Out of these deserving individuals who got their Nigerian citizenship, 208 received certificates for Naturalization, while 78 got certificates by Registration after they officially recited the oath of allegiance and the Nigerian national pledge during the ceremony held at the banquet hall at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

President Buhari had at the ceremony said, ‘You have pledged your allegiance to Nigeria. When you give your love and loyalty to Nigeria, she returns her love and loyalty to you.”

Buhari then went on to urge them to make positive and useful contributions to the advancement and progress of the different communities they’ll reside in, adding that as citizens they must obey the national ethics and code of conduct of the country.
