Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a female aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the ticket to contest for the governorship seat in Adamawa state.
It was a very monumental primary as she defeated six male aspirants including Nuhu Ribadu, former EFCC chairman, and Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow, immediate past governor to get the ticket.
She is currently a member of the upper chamber of the National assembly representing Adamawa Central senatorial district under the All Progressives Congress APC.
She took to her Twitter page to express her joy and gratitude to the delegates for allowing her win the primary election with 430 votes.
“I am both humbled and honored that the delegates of our great party have listened to the popular calls from their people, thus giving me this mandate.”
