In September, the Federal Government spent over N29 billion on infrastructure, focusing on the improvement of road networks and water resources. The Federal Ministry of Works oversaw the distribution of funds, with major allocations such as N5.88 billion to Reinforced Global Resources Ltd for the rehabilitation of Ugep-Opkosi Road in Cross River and Ebonyi states, and N4.42 billion to JRB Constructions Company Limited for the rehabilitation of Potiskum-Jakusko-Gashua Road in Yobe state.
The construction of new roads also enjoyed striking compensation, with N1.26 billion for the construction of Maraba Donga Road in Taraba state, and N1.25 billion for the East-West Road in Delta state. Also, N1.04 billion was earmarked for different works on the Abeokuta-Ajebo Road in Ogun State, while N905.24 million was set aside to enable the completion of Farin Ruwa Multipurpose Dam in Nasarawa State.
Going forward, the Federal Government also set aside funds for the establishment of new federal secretariats by allocating N1.90 billion for Kebbi State, N1.82 billion for Abia State, and N1.82 billion for Ebonyi State.
These projects are to develop Nigeria and improve the standard of living of its citizens, as explained by the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
