The Aviation and Aerospace Minister, Festus Keyamo, substitutes the installation of directors of essential regulatory agencies, including the NAMA, NCAA, NiMET, amongst others.
The Nigerian Federal Government has just laid off all the directors of civil aviation agencies in the country.
This is coming after the dismissal of the chief executive officers of the same organisations.
A statement sent to Channels Television by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, revealed that the Federal Government had said that all the affected directors should relinquish their positions to the most senior officer in their different directorates with immediate effect.
This statement was signed by a spokesperson for the minister, Odutayo Oluseyi.
The affected agencies include: Nigeria Metrological Agency –NiMET, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria –FAAN, Nigeria Airspace Management Agency– NAMA, the Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau –NSIB, and the
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority–NCAA.
The Nigerian government has said that the move was geared at restructuring the aviation industry and guaranteeing a safe and efficient air travel experience for its citizens, in line with the plans of President Tinubu.
