Yanuo industry limited located at ASCON bustop along Lagos -Ibadan expressway, Ogun state was ravaged by fire on Monday. Workers, residents, and passersby all ran to safety, as the fire destroyed million worth of goods.
Landlords and tenants who own houses close to the scene were all seen running for their lives as they thought the fire may transfer to their buildings.
According to the Ogun state fire service, they received a call informing them of the incident, they immediately dispatched some men to the scene, and they immediately put out the fire.
“We got a distress emergency call from residents of this area this morning alerting us that there was a fire outbreak at No 7 Chiene street.
“On receiving the call, we immediately mobilized our men and fire engine to the scene. And we thank God that we were able to control and extinguished the fire at the point we met it,” the leader of the Enugu fire Service team, Mr. Chukwuma Ugwuaneke, said.
A worker in the company disclosed that a fault in the electrical wires caused the fire.
