Suspected gunmen have killed five residents of Nding Susut community in the Fan district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, left four women and a nine-year-old boy dead after the assailants reportedly opened fire on residents gathered outside their homes.

Confirming the incident in a statement on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, said three other women were injured and are currently receiving treatment at a General Hospital.
